How to become a CDO (Chief Development Officer)

CDO Officer: There are many districts in a state, and a district is divided into rural and urban areas. The rural area is divided into blocks. The main purpose of dividing all this is to make the benefits of government schemes reach the public. There are many blocks in each district and a BDO (Block Development Officer) is appointed in each block, and a Chief Development Officer (CDO) is appointed at the district level to review the work of all these. The Chief Development Officer (CDO) works on the instructions of the District Magistrate in the development of the district and is the representative of that state in the district, under which the post is empowered by giving appropriate authority by the government. Just as an MLA or MP are representatives of the public, similarly the Chief Development Officer (CDO) is also a representative of the government.

 How to Become CDO Officer: To get the post of CDO i.e. Chief Development Officer, it is mandatory for the candidate to obtain a graduation degree from a recognized university. The CDO exam is conducted by the Public Service Commission. This exam is divided into three stages - preliminary exam, main exam and interview. Candidates who get success in all three stages are appointed to the post of CDO. In true sense, the exam for IAS is the same as that for CDO. During the training of an IAS officer, he is appointed to this type of post, so that he gets to know about the development and other work of a district properly.

To become a Chief Development Officer, you should truly prepare for civil services and focus on getting a good rank. For this, you should do self study or take shelter of a mentor according to your level. Rights of CDO
The CDO has the full right to preside over the meeting of all the Block Development Officers coming under his district and at the same time he can give instructions to implement all the government schemes in the area properly.  Apart from this, if the Block Development Officer (BDO) does not work according to his instructions, then he can take strict action against them i.e. dismiss them.
