IAS Officer: IAS is the most prestigious post in the civil service of India. What is IAS?
IAS officer is considered to be the highest post in civil services for which only the combative candidates are selected. How to become IAS [Step by Step]
To become an IAS officer, you can follow the following steps: -
First of all, it is mandatory for you to pass 12th.
Pass graduation in any stream.
Apply for IAS (Civil Service) from UPSC portal.
Pass the first stage of the exam - Prelims.
Pass the second stage of the exam - Mains (Main Exam).
After both the stages of the exam, get success in the interview.
After all the exam stages, get detailed training at LBSNAA Academy.
To become an IAS Officer, you must pass the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). IAS Selection Process or IAS Banne Ke Liye requires you to have knowledge about the stages of the IAS exam.
1. Pass the graduation exam
If you want to become an IAS, then you must be a graduate to appear for the UPSC exam. Your first step is to pass the graduation exam according to your subject with good marks. By doing this, your fundamentals will become very good and you will be able to study deeply for the exam.
2. Assess the pattern for the IAS exam
After passing graduation, it will be very easy for you to understand the course and syllabus of the IAS exam. You should look at the syllabus, format and previous year question papers for the UPSC exam. 3. Apply online for UPSC exam
Like every year, online registration for IAS exam starts in the month of February, for which you can submit your application through UPSC official portal upsc.gov.in. While filling the form, fill your information as per Aadhar card and academic documents so that you do not have to face any negligence in future. Applying online for the exam is very easy and if you know how to use computer and internet, then you can very easily register online for IAS.
4. Pass UPSC prelims exam
After filling the IAS form, your prelims exam is conducted in which questions related to General Studies and CSAT are asked. To reach the next stage, you must pass the pre-stage of UPSC exam. This is a qualifying round, its marks are not added to the merit list.
5. Pass the UPSC Mains Exam
After passing the pre-examination, you have to give the very important Mains exam. In this stage, general studies and essay based questions are asked. The marks of this stage are counted in the merit list and your selection depends on this stage.
6. Pass the interview after the written exam
If you have passed both the prelims and mains stages well, then you have to be ready for the next stage. This is an interview exam, in which you are not asked anything written. In this, your activity, seriousness and other personality tests are taken. The marks obtained from this exam are also added to the merit list.
7. Get training in LBSNAA
If you have passed the UPSC Civil Services Exam, then to make you an effective officer, the commission provides you training in the LBSNAA camp. After completing the training from here, you are also given field level training according to your qualification for serving the country.
